Well he is a very excentric character so the strange clothes fit his personality.
A pimp man?...oh, it looks like a gigolo  ...mmm now with the wip it could be a lion tammer ..very fashion indeed ^_^
The draw is nice, but I'd try to avoid saturated colors and not with a background so similar to his coat...and lens flare isn't the best choose, there arebetter way to create a light point withou that cliche-photoshop thing.
So dont over use colors and effects, the simple things (like plain colors) use to work better in some cases :)

Reaaly? I thought Lens flares were good ways to create light in a pic...

I agree with you about the backround. Orginally the drawing was just the character design and once I colored it I just felt that a white backround looked too empty so I just threw that one together. Once I get time I might go back and draw an actualy background.

Yeah. At least I know I am. I just started my freshman year of art school.

Nice! I'm in my sophmore year in college, but i just reciently joined the college art classes. ART 101 is way too easy I think. I was talking about reflective lights for pictures with value changes, and the professor said to me that I was far ahead of what the class should be at! >.< I wish I could have just gone up to 102 or Digital Art class already, but this is the stepping stone. Anyways, GL in art school! :)

Yeah. I know what you mean. Right now we're just drawing boxes and hallways. There are sadly only like 2 other people who can do prespective decently.

I was thinking a good background would be something along the lines of a grey kind of mist hanging behind him in varying patterns... if you could place a Photoshop image, I could alter that layer behind him so there's a different gradient. Maybe try my hand at digital coloring.
