Just when I thought I had escaped the madness that is World of Warcraft... they do something like this!

The same thing they do every 2 years, Silver Predator Wolf... try and take over the world!

Or my time. That works too...

I'm almost tempted to get WoW just for that despite my dislike of WoW. Dislike's the wrong term, it's a good game it's just not worth paying fifteen bucks a month.

Sorry, but I'm not blown away by their constant "RAWR I'M FUCKIN' BADASS, EH" look. I know it's the norm for Blizzard artists to draw people looking like they all had PMS, but Blizzard once again continues the boring bandwagon with werewolves.

I was also tempted to play the game because of the werewolf thing but luckily I remembered that it takes your life. -_- I've had many friends spend hours and hours playing that game.
But there should be more werewolf games or games with werewolves that are not enemies.

So hard to find those type of games... if there is, I'll grab it right away!^^

Oblivion should have had a werewolf sidequest/ccharacter state like it did for vampire.

Seconded here. I'd be happy if Blizzard actually came up with something original... But, I have yet to see that actually happen. The werewolf thing is clearly a stunt pulled to gain the audience of a much bigger crowd. I'm not biting. I actually like depth to my MMOs.

Especially when the backstory is like a professional version of all the werewolf McProse that werewolf authors almost always grind on, what with the "I AM CURSED, HEAR ME WANGST", "in soviet russia, moon rules YOU!!", etc ... And I'm also not convinced at the reason they brought up. It just sounds like a superficial excuse.

And again... Why aren't there some shit like crazyass body mods or glowing tattoos to differentiate the savage idiots from the scaredy sane people? Or to actually make them unique, for that matter?

Heh, I know a game where you could alter the image if your character and everyone else's if you so please. But, I see where you're getting at.

...The Soviet Russia thing made me laugh. xP

Wow having werewolves?.... I remember playing a free code for a month. Wow has much respect gained by the ammount of work and detail the games offers... but c'mon, werewolves?. From what I saw in the trailer they are spected to look like regular humans , the same faces all over again. Shouldn't they at elast look different?

Some guy playing the demo said the Worgen play works pretty much like a human with a fur-suit skill instead believing they are a whole new race. But oh well... we'll see how that plays out.

Uh...maybe if you've never played any other MMO, it has a lot of "work" and "detail" in it. But, for MMOs now a days, WoW is pretty low end as far as graphics and what not. I've seen Free To Plays that looked better.

I think it's just kind of a dick move. A sort of "last resort" kind of thing. They seem like they're getting pretty desperate.

I'll wager that Champions Online has more detailed werewolves. Not that I'm counting on them to come up with something original since Howling 2's lightning-shooting werewolf queen.

Well, you can definitely make a good looking werewolf in Champions Online. But, there's no preselect to it.

...Lightning shooting werewolf queen...? I don't even want to know.

I have my own complaints about these Worgen creatures. Why do they have no tails!? Do they have be all hunched over?

Now, I'm not going to defend World of Warcraft because I know it has its fair share of problems. That, and its every gamer's favorite game to hate on. But I do get a lot of enjoyment out of playing it at a casual level. I for one will play this expansion and will be playing Alliance for the first time just so I can get my piece of Worgen action.

In defense of WoW's graphics... well, there isn't much to defend other than it looks pretty much identical to launch. But in my opinion, that isn't such a bad thing. I myself am pretty drawn to WoW graphics. Though they don't really hold a candle to recent games like Aion, I am very drawn to the art style. Thus, I'm willing to defend the game a bit.

Anyway, I'll stop before this thread gets completely thrown off topic.

WHY DO WORGEN NOT HAS TAILZ?!

hmmm...this topic has gained my interest :) i play this game quite a bit and still enjoy it after 2 years.( dwarf hunter- love being a drunken stump with a gun)

well, with what was shown in blizzcon, i would say its only early days yet. there is still a ton load of work to be done before this thing ships, so they will have changed a few things before then( and i'm sure worgen will get their tails by then :P)

now having said this, i kinda agree this is not much to shout about. its being done before and unless blizz do something to make these guys truly unique, then its most likely gonna be "meh" (mind u though the shapeshifting animation is pretty class, puts druids to shame) I'd try them out sure but i would say up to as far to the starting area.

oh, and from what i read the mounts they get are horses tainted with the curse or some weird pig thing. here's a link to concept art that was shown in blizzcon.(this will change as well over time i reckon)

(topic derailment starts)
now, as for the horde, i think i might actually start a characther on there with the coming of the goblins. Its about bloody time they had a small people race that wouldnt make you feel embarrased to play with. the idea of playing a true merc charachter that would sell his own mother without a second thought is hilarious.

I think they are going to try something significantly different, and welcome, with players only gaining another 5 levels. Part of the problem with the past expansion packs is Blizzard's insistence that we grind out 10 levels. So they direct 50% of their efforts at building those leveling zones. But players don't spend 50% of their game time leveling. They spend a minimum amount of time leveling and a maximum at max level.

Thus, it would only stand to reason that Blizzard should direct more resources to developing end game content rather than leveling content.

Will I play Worgen? Yes. Am I angry that Worgen do not have tails? Absolutely. Why don't the Worgen have tails!?
